No skanky new guitar day pics please!

I got this 2004 PRS Mccarty in Metallic Fire/Red for a ridiculous deal! It's got a nasty gash/chip at the bottom edge of the body, but I can repair that easily, other than that, it sounds huge and definitely shreds!!
PRS Wrap-around stoptail bridge with adjustable saddles
EMG 81 bridge, EMG 89 (coil tapped) in the neck both sound great, but I might restore the original pickups into it, we'll see down the road.

I'd leave the pickups as is.  Maybe replace pickup rings with white or cream.  Great gee-tar.

Thanks! Yeah, the EMG's sound good as is, although I might trade the 81 in the bridge for an 85

My Custom24 has the 81/85 combo and it rips, much better than the stock pups ever did. Had the 5-way rotary that I replaced with a simple toggle. Here's what it looks like with the cream rings.

Uberschall that 24 is awesome! Does it have the 85 in the bridge? Which do you prefer in the bridge position, 81 or 85? I've tried 'em both in the bridge, and like both for different applications

Haha, yeah it sounds great, got an 80's metal sound with the killer ant, through my Krank it's just huge and devastating

I've only ever used the 81 bridge/85 neck positions. Haven't tried swapping them as I really like the tone as it is. With the amps I have, getting a big/fat/warm drive tone out of the bridge hasn't been a problem for me.

Very Funcy PRS's..PRSes? PRSsi? What is the plural of PRS?
Anyway, cool guits! I've never had a PRS, but I love the 85 in the bridge, fat, clean, and never harsh.

Congrats on the good deal!

Turn it up!!

Yeah it is very similar to W's candy tangerine, but more red. These pics look far more orange than it really is!
