Well, I tried gold and silver up against the body.  I guess my color blindness is showing itself, because I think the gold with the black pups looks good.  That said, I changed all the hardware for gold.  Love it even more!
Glad I'm not the only one around here that's color blind..... :icon_biggrin:

You are, too?   :icon_scratch:
Yip, I can only see the numbers in the first 2 cards in the color blind test......

Dude, you scare me.   :icon_biggrin:

Colorblindness aside, FWIW I took this in last week for a setup and fret dressing.  Like my Strat that I took in, OMG, what a killer guitar.  Love the playability and the action and the tone.

I wish I could pass some of my dumb luck onto GoDrex for his builds.

What steps have to taken to avoid the horrible curse incurred when you put a DiMarzio and a Duncan pickup on the same guitar? Everybody knows you can't DO that... :evil4:

After seeing the "Tele Owners Unite" thread in the Off Topic section, I looked back through this one and realized I never posted a pic with the gold hardware.  I posted it in that thread, but to be complete, I'll put it here as the finished build.  I personally think the gold hardware has a subtle pop to it.  :)

I think the gold looks really good, although the black might have provided some contrast.

And what's a "subtle pop"? Is that like a soft poke in the eye? <grin>
1. Slow down to speed up

2. Always use a metronome

3. Dare to suck

Exactly!  Looking at your avatar, its like setting the gain to 3 instead of 11!   :laughing7:
