Resounding approval! I would never leave position 1 and 2, sounds fantastic. Never heard that solo before, but nice playing Smiley

Beautiful guitar. I am curious about finishing wenge. Did you do any prep sanding or anything? Or did you go straight for the Tru Oil?

Kublai - I knew, and still know, practically nothing about finishing! So I simply cleaned it with naphta and hit it with tru oil! No sanding, no prepping, no nothing... kept it real simple. For 3 coats I used cloth, and veeeeerrryyyy little tru oil. Let it dry for 6-7 hours or something like that between coats. For the last coat I used my fingers (The cloth I used left some fibres, dust and stuff, so I wanted to get the last coat as clean as possible...). The last one was significantly harder since I had less control over how much oil I put on, but as long as you pay attention it will work out just fine!

Lovely looking guitar..but I think the clips just wrecked my curiousity about wenge on guitars..bit too dark/muffled..

anyone else got any wenge clips? perhaps with different pups?
