I know Geckos come with 35" necks, but I had another idea. On a Fenderbird, there is plenty of room to move the bridge back and make it into a 35" bass, but the intonation would be off.

Could you get a custom P-bass neck with the frets placed so it'd work on a 35" setup? I'd like to get Warmoth everything but I guess I could get a Soulmate neck made for a 35" Fenderbird..

You  could get a fretless neck and fret it yourself...

Sure, if you wanted to be logical.

I'm not much of a craftsman. Do you have any ballpark ideas on how much a decent fret job could run?

Just get a fretless neck and do what stubhead did with the side dots.

Does anyone remember what thread that was in?
