Neat! Winning this could be a fun way to build outside your personal box. For instance I don't like pickguards and would never choose top rout, but if I won the body in the video I would give it the same focus and effort as any of my other builds.
Several years ago when I was just beginning my Warmoth addiction there were some tulipwood Unique Choice fretboards in the store that I thought were gorgeous. I wanted to make a project around one, but I didn't give it any urgency and then they were gone--never to return again that I've seen...
A couple months ago there were a few beautiful Unique Choice quilt pieces that looked to be from the same tree available and I couldn't help myself; I had to have one of them.
Gonna combine it with the Chechen neck I've had stashed under my bed since the limited run Warmoth had.
Finally getting around to posting this... Last year was my 25th anniversary of playing guitar so I wanted to commemorate that with a build. Some quick math reveals that I got my start in 1989 so the goal was to build something with an 80s feel. :party07:
Body:
Swamp Ash Warmoth Star

Been playing guitar for 25 years and figured I'd commemorate it with a Warmoth project. Theme is obviously full shred to mark when and why I started playing. :headbang1: :party07:

So my next project is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Included in that project is an Arcade neck which I'd like to sand the tumor off of. The neck is raw canary with a finished QM peghead veneer. Is there anything I need to be concerned about because of the veneer or special...
I noticed this exact thing going from a guitar with an R3 Floyd nut to the R4 on my Warmoth. Both widths are 1 11/16. It feels like there's so much more room for chording.
My second build... this one basically named itself... the band I play bass in is called The Slammin' Zeros and this is a Z body bass... therefore...

Swamp Ash Z Bass
Quilted Maple Top
Black Dye top finish

Where was this 5 years ago? Or 16 years ago(Dear God, has it really been 16 years since my first band)?
