    Pantera—Vulgar Display Of Power

Needing some suggestions ... I've not really been into that much heavy music, particularly post 90's—I would describe my taste as more along the lines of blues/rock, with a bit of grunge and pop thrown in for good measure. But VDoP is one of my all time favorite albums. Was listening to it...

The ol' girl gets a fret job

Just picked up my Ibanez 'Les Paul' Deluxe 59'er after sending it in for a fret job with my guy, Tim Brennan. Tim runs a blog on his website and loved this axe so much he decided to right about her, check it out ... http://www.tymguitars.com.au/?p=4779 New 6105's ... plays like butter...

    Problem fitting ferrules for Tele

Thought I'd try fitting the ferrules for my new tele using the soldering iron trick. It's a showcase body and they are Warmoth supplied ferrules so I thought they should fit in pretty easily once the ferrule was heated. NO!  :tard: Should've measured first, but you can see from the pics that...

    Build 2

Some of you may remember me asking for some photoshop mockups for my tele build. I'd decided on a padouk fatback neck but wasn't sure what finish to go for on a swamp ash body. In the end I bought a showcase piece. It arrived yesterday with the neck  :toothy10: The details: Body flame maple on...

Can anyone do me some quick photoshop mockups

I want to compare three bodies: PT2257, PT2301 & PT1920 with this padouk neck TN3800. I only need to see the backs (back of the body with the back of the neck) ... just interested in how the padouk looks with these three finishes. If you've got the time and it's not too much of a PITA I'd much...

Neck bow ... dissapointed? <UPDATE> Not any more!

So I just heard from my guitar tech re setup on my new Warmoth strat. He spoke to me the other day and said that after fully backing off the truss rod the neck was still back bowed. He's had it in clamps for the last two days trying to reset it and has just informed me that it hasn't changed...

    Suggestion for next build

Hi all, I've decided to wait on building a Les Paul as I'm not sure whether to go with the 59 roundback (which I love on my strat) or to go fatback. To help make a decision I decided I build a tele and try a fatback on that. I've played teles with baseball bat necks before and for some reason...

    Bill Lawrence L90s or L500s?

I put Bill's noisefree singles in my first Warmoth strat a month or so ago, partly from the positive response of reviews that I'd read but mostly because of the price, and I've got to say these are really great, versatile pickups! I'm not a purist when it comes to pickups ... I like to be able...

Question about 3-way toggle and mini toggle

Two-part question: Can you get a DPDT toggle switch that is the same size as a Les Paul 3-way pickup toggle ... in other words not a 'mini' toggle switch? If so, would it fit in a hole drilled for a standard LP tone pot? I'm thinking about replacing the neck tone control on a LP with a DPDT...

    Candy tangerine

Well here it is ... Not great pics at the moment but I'll post some more next week if anyone is interested. I am LOVIN' this neck! The feel of raw wood is just fantastic and the stainless frets are great. I'm lovin' the colour too—check out the orange-red streaks and how well they go with the...

    Part 1 of the puzzle

Got home last night to a little surprise ... WOW ... it's very orange!  :laughing7: So, now waiting on all the other bits to arrive. Probably a good idea to do an idiot check ... Parts ordered are: Warmoth Pro standard strat neck, canary on canary, 1 11/16 width, compound radius, 59 roundback...

    $ down on first build

What a mad couple of days! I've been lurking around here since the New Year and was getting close to ordering parts for a Les Paul build. I figured for my first Warmoth I'd just do a showcase body and get a custom neck made. Anyway I'm looking at the showcase the other night, showing my wife...

Wenge neck—what body weight to make it balanced?

Hi folks, Newby here, so be prepared for stoopid questions!  Thought it made more sense to post this here because I'm looking for advice from wenge neck owners (apologies if this is the wrong place). Planing my first build; mahogany (or korina) body (not sure which style yet), dual...

    Thought I'd say g'day!

Hi guys & gals, Man, you folks have built some beautiful instruments! I've been lurking on the forums since the beginning of the year when I first discovered Warmoth and the boards. Getting ready to pull the trigger on my first build and thought I'd say g'day!  :icon_thumright: I'm not...
