It's been done for a while now. I just did some photos today.
I'm really enjoying the series/parallel option for the DiMarzio EJ Custom Pickups, and the bloodwood boatneck is awesome.
Plenty of detailed photos posted here :

I "think" the body...
My Loop "Quiet" ( up to 26dB ) plugs arrived today. Not bad. I'll use them in a pinch. Maybe car driving.
I'll never be able to sleep with them in. See next paragraph - "rumble"

But one negative I immediately notice, for me, is that they accentuate...
I've been hooked on these for a long time. 29dB. Could never sing with them in but playing bass and only backup vocals was ok with these.
When I was doing FOH mix with big systems my mix was always way better with the plugs in. I'd EQ the room with them out - do the first few song with them out...
Hey there ... any new news about Pittsburgh Tecs?
I'm thinking I want an SS fret job but it seems everyone here is the Steel city is afraid of SS frets.

Except for one problem. When the switch is thrown to the Series side, where green is not active, the pup would not be grounded. I believe that's the reason to ground the green to the Volume pot and the bare to a more global ground. Then the bare will always be grounded.
Yes. After some thought and looking at the photo in the manual - I concluded the same - because if the green and bare were just twisted together,
the ground for the pickup would be disabled when the switch was thrown to the side where the green would not be active.
Too bad the manual isn't more...
ahhh ... the manual calls the braided / shield wire the "bare" wire. That's why I couldn't find it searching the manual for shield or braided.
My mistake for not reading the whole manual word for word.
It says "the bare wire is always soldered to ground".
