    That sucks. I thought an all-roasted maple fretboard would be really nice, and especially if half-scalloped.

    I'm thinking of a wenge neck and fretboard. I have a wenge neck with an ebony fretboard, and it feels awesome to play on. Nice and slick. I was thinking a wenge fretboard would play nice too, and look really cool being all wenge attached to a swamp ash Jaguar.

    I've smacked three people in the head so far, and mine is holding up great. I second that it feels great to play on. But seriously, I have two Jags with the roasted maple/ebony, and they've held up great to heavy gigging over the last several years.

    I'm the same way about translucent finishes, and also about white guitars with gold hardware.
