  1. Hanover Fiste

    Build #6 finished

I just completed #6 recently. Specs: White korina (limba) body, Warmoth neck with '59 profile, 10" - 16" compound radius, 6100 frets, GFS "Vintage" P90 pickups, Gotoh hardware, 1 volume/2 tone controls. I now have my 6-guitar stand full, and don't plan on building any more...unless Warmoth...

    My third Warmoth build

I cut the heel; the lower horn curve is stock.

    #5 is alive!

The wiring is master volume, with two tone controls. The body was just a standard "in stock" one. The Mighty Mite birdseye necks vary in the amount of figuring.

    #5 is alive!

Thanks for the compliments. It definitely was a fun build. The pickups are GFS "Little Crunchy" mini-humbuckers. Similar to other mini-'buckers, they have a brighter, more airy, "hi-fi" sound to them. The neck is from Mighty-Mite, with jumbo frets and abalone dots. The tuners & bridge assembly...

    #5 is alive!

My fifth Warmoth build; this one is equipped with mini-humbuckers. I wanted to do an all birdseye maple guitar, and this one meets that goal. Hope you like it!

    My 4th build--"Invictüs"

Yes I did. Thank you! I'm already planning on builds #5 & #6.

    My 4th build--"Invictüs"

Here are some pics of my 4th build completed awhile ago. Specs: Walnut back, Zebrawood top, GFS Modern Lead pickups, Gotoh Tremolo and Tuners in Cosmo Black, Maple neck with '59 LP profile. It plays as good as it looks! The only flaw is on the back, where I used the wrong color of Plastic...

    My third Warmoth build

That's a nice-looking piece of wood! I don't necessarily agree with the whole "tone wood" claims, but my poplar guitar resonates, and it sounds really good--both unplugged and into an amp.

    My third Warmoth build

Thanks for the comments. I should emphasize that when I said, "everything didn't match up exactly as I planned," that means some items are off by just a minuscule amount. They won't be noticed by the average person. I work in a place that measures items with micro-inch tolerances, so if...

    My third Warmoth build

I just completed this one over the weekend. Wanting to do something a bit different, I chose a 1-piece Poplar body. It's very light, but discovered poplar is very soft. The guitar isn't perfect: without a drill press or very sharp bits, drilling perfectly straight holes without the bit...

    Contoured Heel

This is how I did it for my upcoming 3rd build.

    Finally finished!

I bought the G&L pickups new via G&L's web store. I also used their output jacks and potentiometers. As for the PTB wiring, it stands for Passive Treble & Bass. This was developed by Leo Fender at G&L and used on models such as the Legacy. It's supposed to give more tone shaping opportunities...

    Finally finished!

Build #2: Stratocaster body finished in Turquoise by Warmoth Warmoth Warhead neck (roasted flame maple, 6100 jumbo frets, '59 Roundback neck profile, 1-5/8" nut width, Arizona Turquoise dot inlays) G&L CLF-100 single coil pickups; no-name humbucker pickup G&L PTB wiring Gotoh tuners Gotoh...

    Finally finished!

After a five-month wait, my custom-ordered neck finally arrived, and I was able to complete my 2nd build. I actually began my 2nd build first, but due to the wait on the neck, I completed it later. Build #1: Soloist body, with ~20 coats of Tru-Oil Mighty-Mite neck (birdseye maple, jumbo...

    Almost done!

Agreed. However, my tuners aren't staggered, so string trees on my build are necessary.

    Almost done!

While waiting for my Warmoth neck to be completed, I temporarily (?) installed a birdseye maple Mighty Mite neck, with jumbo frets and abalone inlays. The color matches perfectly with the body. Not quite sure if I like the satin finish; I may put a Tru-Oil or water-based varnish finish on it. I...

    Almost done!

Just waiting for the neck and the tone caps.

bushing holes for 10mm Gotoh trem

A Dremel with the proper attachment would work, too. Just use the slowest speed and be VERY careful.

    Black Korina Mooncaster

Another "No" vote for a pickguard. Nice build!

    First post--first build

Hello all!  Since I recently built an all-tube amp, I decided to try my hand at building a guitar.  The body is a showcase piece. I was going to buy a showcase neck as well, but realized the one I wanted had a Telecaster heel, so I ordered an almost identical one so it would fit. I already have...
