    What feels most like Ebony?

Yes, definitely feel over sound. Regarding my "reading a lot over the forums" I haven't posted and asked anywhere yet - this is the place for that ;) I've just been looking at other threads talking about specific woods, such as this one. I mostly wanted to make sure that there wasn't already...

    What feels most like Ebony?

Hmm. good question. I've been trying to find the right words, not sure I have, but we'll give it a go. I'm sure it feels more "lively" to me because of how it feels under my fingers, and therefore how I might play a bit differently with it. "Fast" and "smooth" are the easy words, but they're...

    What feels most like Ebony?

I've been reading a lot over the forums, and I've picked up some decent comparisons, but I'm still pretty curious on some explicit, direct thoughts. After many years I think I can say it, my favorite fingerboard wood is... is... ebony. Just love it. But that dark of a fingerboard isn't right...

Are large inlays a bad idea for exotic woods?

A lot of preference here in the end, but I've been going back and forth on this personally and I'm curious what other people think. Essentially... I've been considering getting a canary neck for an upcoming (fingers crossed) build or perhaps something more modest but with a wenge fretboard. The...

VOTE HERE! November 2022 Guitar of the Month Contest

@AngeloGuitars, mind if I ask where you got your engraved neckplate? It looks like its easy to "view" from different angles. The ones I've had done are tricky; they almost disappear at the wrong angle. You really have to have the light hit them perfectly to see the image properly.

Tacoma Guitar Festival 2023 - will Warmoth be there?

Ha! What a visual. But man I'm sorry to hear of that history and heartbreak! Cheers to a happy and healthy '23. I guess I'll just have to build a couple guitars to get to know them better, eh?

Tacoma Guitar Festival 2023 - will Warmoth be there?

I haven't found anything about a possible (likely?) 2023 show, but last year's dates were: MAY 21 - 22, 2022. So I'd have to imagine if there will be a '23 show it would be around the same time of year and announced somewhat soon. Just speculation on my part.

Tacoma Guitar Festival 2023 - will Warmoth be there?

Sorry if this is a bit of a noob question, but I'm curious if Warmoth always attends the Tacoma festival as a vendor? I see they did in 2020, though I don't see any official announcements about the show for 2023 (from Warmoth or the show organizers). I've always wanted to go, and that combined...

Neck Weight a consideration for Baritone Build?

After a lot of research I think the answer here is "no", or "stop overthinking it" :D All the same, I'd like to get some thoughts from the community if anyone is up for it. I've been slowly planning a baritone build for a while and am now trying to finalize what I want to do for the neck. I've...

What is your favorite Tele bridge pickup?

I don’t have a ton of time on different pickups, but I currently have two teles, one with a Lollar ‘52 and one with a Lollar Special. I love them both.

New video: Can my guitars withstand the HUMIDITY?

You know “Seattleites” are the new “Californians” in terms of taking over the country, right? 😄😉 seriously good luck and enjoy the move! Im originally from Ohio, now in Seattle, and right now visiting family in NE Alabama, very close to the Georgia border. It really is beautiful country. I...

How often does Warmoth change or update their offerings?

I assume those changes were the result of legal issues? I’m planning to try a Velocity build, but I do really love the slightly more symmetrical Wolfgang body. I have to imagine this also means those more traditional body shapes won’t be back. Which is of course fine, Warmoth has some sharp...

    A couple of Soloist questions…

I'm here for the super-sharp radii on the soloist :D A real flat top with sharp binding would be sick

Looking for a Raw Neck Wood Reccomendation

I'd love to get some more thoughts on the communities thoughts between the roasted maple and the raw options being discussed here. The Gonçalo mentioned just above sounds pretty interesting... I got my first (raw) roasted maple neck for a tele build a couple years ago now from Warmoth and am...

    More Short Scale Bass Bodies

Here to bump this and add my upvote to more short scale bass options. I'd love to build a custom Mustang / Musicmaster or Jazzmaster style bass with all the lovely Warmoth customization options. Edit - added Jazzmaster since it's already offered as a standard body, maybe that would be an...
