    G'day Folks...How have you been?

Just thought I'd say hello again. Last year was pretty busy so I didn't get up to much of interest to the board. I didn't build much in comparison to past years, I actually got out and played a few. I managed to get over to Europe again and met a few old band mates from way back. Of course...

72 Tele bass (with humbucker) wiring

Can anybody please tell me what value pots and capacitor are used in an American Fender Telecaster Bass? It's the 3 bolt model with the BIG humbucker at the end of the fingerboard.

What was your first Warmoth build?

It doesn't have to be a complete instrument..             Mine was a replacement neck for an old Japanese Profile P Bass. I bought the bass as a back up about twenty years ago and pulled the frets out of it on a whim. After discovering that Jaco had nothing to worry about, the butchered victim...

    Red Rat..the directors cut

Here's how the padouk/walnut LPS worked out. The pickguard wasn't a popular idea with the forum but the guy who owns it loves it and that's what counts. :headbang:

I ordered the neck a few days later so that might even turn up soon too  :blob7: It's getting a vintage trem...

    meet "Rusty"

It's been a while, what with overseas trips and other diversions, but I finally got the "Rusty" strat together. Apart from the pickguard, everything came from Warmoth. The body is one piece swamp ash, the neck is an all pau-ferro pro boat, 6130 frets, graphite nut and 1 11/16th width. Pickups-...

    Tremolo for carved top

My next build is going to be a carved top LPS. What sort of tremolo (non locking type) would you put on it? I like the 6 hole vintage trem from W but they don't work with carved tops. How about a Wilkinson?............any thoughts? :icon_scratch: it's gonna be a righty this time BTW...

Swamp ash/Pau ferro Strat. progress report

This is going to take a while, we are off on an overseas trip in a couple of weeks to UK then Canada/USA. The idea is to get the body finished so it cures while I'm away. The color is a bit too 'honey' at the present stage, I'm aiming for something closer to the pau ferro neck. The lighting is...

    Pau ferro boat neck

The neck got here this morning, hopefully the body will arrive soon. As you can see, the box did the job and my all Pau ferro neck made it to Australia without any drama. It's going on a one piece swamp ash body.                                                         BTW.  I ordered this...

    One more time............

I must stop doing this!.. :confused4: just ordered another body and neck. They have to be custom built (left handed) So I don't have a clue what they will look like. The body is a one piece swamp ash strat. Standard 3 sc, 6 hole trem, ordinary strat. The neck is a boat back Pro pau ferro/pau...

    Caramel and Chocolate

Swamp ash and rosewood, caramel and chocolate. :icon_scratch: My drummers little girl came up with the description, she's only four. The bridge pickup is a JB and the neck a SD Hot P90. The color came out as I'd hoped. I used clear satin "Cabothane" with some stain mixed in that I had left over...

    Winging it

The body is at stage two of its journey. I sanded off the black grainfiller this morning. I might do a bit of  "fence painting" tomorrow and see if I can jag a nice transluscent color for it. It's great fun not having a clue how it's going to turn out :tard:

    L5S Koa/Korina

It's not wired up yet. The house is starting to fill up with kids and their kids, various relatives, musicians and other dedicated party animals so the soldering iron is going to have to stay cold till after the holiday. So here's a quick look. Every one of you have a great Christmas, or...

    Korina/Koa L5S Thank you Santa!

Literally out of the box this morning. Black korina back and a great looking koa top. I tried the hardware on for size as well as the neck. (note the regular switchcraft toggle switches are too long. So if you're building a flat top hollow body use a box type or a sideways switchcraft) This is...

How minty is a mint pickguard

Has anybody used a warmoth mint pickguard? The whole mint thing is supposed to replicate the old white Fender guards that aged and went to snot but the warmoth color pop up on the site looks like pea soup. I'm hoping there's a pic out there that might give a truer indication.
