It sounds great without the bright cap but it’s a warm sound when rolled back. Really becomes more versatile with it. When rolled back to about 4-5 on a 500k pot it sounds kinda stratty or tele-ish. Thin in a way that’s great for cleans. I think I have a 150pf cap and no resistor and that works...
I was actually using both a katana 50 and a spark 40 at the time I bought this amp. For me the endless options meant I spent more time tweaking than playing. That coupled with the fact that the few tones I wanted felt very artificial out of those two modellers. The JMP1C is incredibly simple and...
Actually if you want the neck’s position to remain the same distance from the bridge you would have to add material back to the vertical heel surface in the pocket rather than route it out more. Since the neck pocket is already routed this is obviously not feasible. I wouldn’t worry about it at...
My reasons for the Gotoh are:
-If you flush mount the Floyd, the beveled edge allows lower bridge height
-The saddles feel better for resting your hand on the bridge or palm muting
-The fine tuners have much more range, so much that the D tuna is unnecessary
For me those things make the whole...
Gotta say, my favorite is the green. I too am a soloist enjoyer. Seems like you’re a fan of the schaller Floyd. Any particular reason? Have you tried the Gotoh Floyd?
Seems like your measurements were done in inches not in mm. 0.021mm is basically imperceptible. I’m not really sure any normal measuring tools could produce such a measurement. 0.021” would make sense though. Which is actually 0.53mm and seems reasoanbly close to the PRS measurements you...
There is too much censorship everywhere, and Aaron is right about it affecting genuine creativity. It’s all music and guitars over here 😎 no politics or drama.
Very exciting to see you were able to create the plan you wanted. Seems like this is going to turn out very unique, and very useful for the way you approach playing. I’m looking forward to seeing how the roasted swamp ash in gloss contrasts with the roasted maple.
Yeah 99% of the time warmoth neck widths are almost exactly perfect. Probably gotta sand the pocket. Check the width though on the neck heel. Literally no reason to wonder when you can check and be sure.
Also I’m sure you know that this is not how a CNC machine works, you don’t just “forget a...
I can’t help you on the 24.75” thing, but here is a soloist and strat side by side. The soloist does look and feel smaller and sleeker by a bit. Ultimately neither will look that different with a 24.75” scale neck. The 0.75” doesn’t change the visual balance that much.
They will assure you that the standard non recessed angled pocket will set up the way you want. They have everything dialed in well. My preference is slightly more idiosyncratic than what’s common. So take my information with a grain of salt. Shims and trem stoppers will save the day in the odd...
You may get away with decking the bridge without a trem stopper, there’s nothing wrong with using a trem stopper I just wanted that 80s feel. For that reason I modified the neck pocket. It’s really not hard and if you didn’t feel capable of doing it, you can always shim as stratamania has...
Very cool. Do you have experience with graphic design? The proportionality on your version is very good. Nothing really off balance. Good job for real.
