How do you feel about naming instruments? I've had people ask if I have names for mine, and I've always replied that it never felt important & I never considered it - but I don't mind knowing about historical instruments in that way, including famous guitarists' axes, especially if it's a really...
I'm having great results with a Fatback that I trimmed down like you described. It's so weirdly asymmetrical that guitars I thought felt good before are painful now.
I live in Ephrata, northeast end of Lancaster County, PA, home to lots of Amish & Mennonites. You are 100% right about their love of partying. To be fair, they work harder than almost anyone I can imagine, too.
I did just recently necropost about the Marshall Shredmaster pedal, but have since discovered a worthy successor: the Oxford Drive by the King of Gear (he runs an extensive Radiohead/RH-adjacent website). It basically covers the Guv'nor sound additionally to the original Shredmaster, with...
I am using a 3B3-01 blade, not the 3X3-08 toggle, but just passing on what Alastair sent me. The DPDT diagram earlier is appreciated, as is the diagram from manufacturer.
Hi everyone, Alasdair shared these two diagrams:
and then added this modification:
I'm not sure yet if I will prefer series/parallel or series/parallel/split, but will probably try series/parallel next now that I've tried split mode a bit and have On-On DPDTs available.
For latecomers like me, the prior forum posts are invaluable, and a sort of continually expanding text. I guess it can muddy the waters that are "supposed" to be kept clear for more timely or pertinent topics, but the older material is still extremely valuable. I'm glad I'm not limited to...
Just emailed them with this scenario - when I receive word of a solution, I'll share the info here at that time. Good thing is at least I like the basic pickups!
Let me make sure I understand correctly.
I should jumper the connection from the lowest right lug of DPDT to that terminal on the Freeway, while retaining the connection from south start to said DPDT lug?
I wasn't sure if the signal would continue flowing or connect across the switches that...
I should've clarified - I meant this is not possible to do while still using the Freeway switch. So there's no way to get the setup in the diagram I posted when using the DPDTs immediately after the pickups(?). If I'm mistaken, please correct me!
Just my luck, I have On-On instead of On-On-On...
After some research, the real problem seems to be getting both coil split and parallel humbucking options on each pickup (while retaining default series operation). I am willing to make a compromise and only have parallel/series switching for each pickup. I could always go back to the split...
So, I installed the SNS set tonight. Haven't played them with all my different amp/pedal settings, but in general it's a very nice, warm PAF tone with better clarity than traditional buckers, IMO more life than the Duncan Jazz, for example. The .015uf cap is pretty effective but .022uf probably...
Spud, do you mess with the limiter on the Mach 3? It's a little weird compared to a pedal in terms of how it hits your signal but for me around 75% on a clean channel creates a nice spongy feel. Results depend heavily on your Gain, Dist Bst, and overall front end level.
