I'm thinking of a wenge neck and fretboard. I have a wenge neck with an ebony fretboard, and it feels awesome to play on. Nice and slick. I was thinking a wenge fretboard would play nice too, and look really cool being all wenge attached to a swamp ash Jaguar.
I've smacked three people in the head so far, and mine is holding up great. I second that it feels great to play on. But seriously, I have two Jags with the roasted maple/ebony, and they've held up great to heavy gigging over the last several years.
I'm the same way about translucent finishes, and also about white guitars with gold hardware. Preferably very bright white, often called "arctic" or "alpine" white. I'll usually top it off with a white pearloid pickguard, the whole scheme being like Steve Vai's "Flo" guitar.
