Can't have too many good tools! I broke down and bought a set of nut files a while back. Don't need them very often, (like twice since buying them), but a Godsend when I do. Good luck with the fretless work!

On an extremely beautiful Tele! Ian, I'm impressed every time I see that one.....

I only have 1 Tele, and it is contoured. I find it very comfortable to play, but I'm only talking from limited experience with Telecasters in general. In the end, I'd definitely follow stratamania's advice:

Another option might be old fashioned "rubber cement". Flexible and sticky as all get out.
