It's going to be a love affair......

Goodness gracious! That's a fine piece! Makes me wanna... do something to it...

Thanks Gents, I'm really digg'n on this this neck. Really couldn't have asked for a better result. Turned out a little darker than I thought it might, but I'm more than happy!

And you shall.... It won't be until after the first of the year though, want to get the headstock decal in place before the tuners get mounted. I'll be in touch before sending it off.

(Just a quick decal preview)

That's a sharp logo. I think I'd be a bit concerned about it getting lost on that wood, though. It's kinda close in color.

Cool logo. If you're concerned about it not showing enough, just rattle can the neck white first.

Thanks, not my design though, lifted from the interweb, free download from a site called "ClipartMax". My contribution was proper formatting, scaling, and making it suitable for Rothco and Frost to do their thing with it.  Doug was able to cut the same rose into the neck plate.

That really shouldn't be that much of a problem. That's metallic gold, so it should show up well against the brown, (which, BTW, looks just a little darker in the photos than the actual color). The black text was never meant to be seen very well in the first place. The decal is only about 1-3/8" long by .75" wide, so unless you're looking really close....

I keep wanting to do a starcaster like this but I keep second guessing it
I put the neck and body together, just press fit, so I could see how it feels, (and grab a couple of pix). If the finished instrument feels as good as the fit up does, I'll be very happy. Sort of like an offset ES-339, if you can imagine that.

And just BTW, I've been waiting until I could get the decal mounted and buried, before moving on. That got done last week:

That's before I cleaned up the masked edge. (Love me some satin lacquer.) Now it'll be off to Michigan for some "Cagey Mojo Magic", and I can get started on the body.

Man, that's outstanding! :icon_thumright:

Glad you like it Bro. Rothco and Frost did their usual superb job executing my design specs. Good thing they went to printing as many decals as will fit on the size sheet you select, instead of piecemeal like it used to be. The first attempt folded as I applied it, and being so thin, I couldn't get it to straighten out. Second attempt went much better!  :icon_jokercolor:

Wow that looks great! I really need to look more into this decal thing for my headstock.

Thanks. To me, (and just IMHO), a guitar isn't complete without something on the headstock. It's not very difficult to do, but it is very time consuming. Seal the headstock, let it cure, sand it flat, install the decal, let it dry thoroughly, bury the decal, let it cure, flat sand, finish coat, let it cure. To do it right can take close to a month, but to me, it's worth the effort. Good luck with your's, keep us posted with your progress.  :icon_thumright:
