iPhones are the coolest things since Diet Coke!

They're all cool... but I'm an Android geek. Here's my case - greater variety of hardware on the software platform.  I can get many types of phone, small or full size tablets, not just a choice of one or two from each class of hardware. Granted Apple's harware is usually very good, but... I...

    Do Transparent finishes fade

Red is the worst.... Old Gibson guitars would go from cherry sunburst to tobacoo burst damn near - as red fades to brown.  Old Cherry SG's are now brown... The old dyes and colors were not very light fast at all.  Then again - old daphne blue Fender guitars are very green, as also are the Lake...

*******For anyone that has broken a screw in their headstock***********

That was a crafty fix that workes with some tuners.... but for others leaves a pretty big "boink" thats visible. Let me modify the train of thought a little.... You can get small steel tubing - old AC units, brake line, any old steel tubing.  I've used brass too, but... you have to go a lot...

    Which Maple top?

To me, spalted always begs for tobacco burst... while burl begs for an easy yellow red brown burst - like the old LP's that had burl tops on occasion.... but... but... the yellow red brown has to have a not too vivid yellow, and not too vivid red. and not too wide on brown... has to be a nice...

    Finish removal on frets

Leo was a genius for straightforward simplicity based on his one predominant character trait:  He was a really cheap son-of-a-bitch.  All those terrible bridges are still used today, in one form or another.  They were cheap.  And they must have done something right, since nothing succeeds like...

    Another Radii Question

I did the math once... if your low E is set to about 4/64ths and you high E is set to about 3.5/64ths, your going to be about .5/64ths high at the D and G. I tend to notice that, but others... I dunno... depends on the player.  The fix is easy, just file the saddle top a little, re-notch...

To anybody with programming abilities... Wiring software?

I personally do it in (aaak!!!) Photoshop The hard way maybe, but I've got a grid (that I can turn off) and have made up symbols that I import, keep on the side for copy/paste where I need 'em. Perhaps not the best way... but... you can squish down layers and then turn on or off layers, put...
