Just needs a bit of set up. Really enjoyed this project.
This was the 2nd guitar I had put together. I loved the finish but over the years it suffered some large chips and with the bridge I had installed I could never get the top E sting to intonate properly. So I decided to convert it to a...
It took a minute. Really loving her though. Learned a lot through the process.
I always loved SRV's Lenny strat. I figured I'd give it a go. Nobody makes a decent inlay. All I can find is decals so I figured I will carve a replica of the inlay. I got a practice piece of alder to try a couple...
So here is the neck I got on order. It is gonna be cut to a warhead.

I was browsing Schaller's website and found this. Looks pretty sweet and like the dimensions are pretty close to the 510. Anyone try one of these? The spacing of the posts are 81.8 vs Gotoh's 82 and the diameter of the post hole deals for the body is 11.2 vs Gotoh's 11.3. It has a 12" radius...
A few (maybe one) :laughing7: wanted to hear what my strat sounds like. I'm practicing and getting better and most of all having fun so don't be to rough :toothy10:

Well as much as I loved my surfgreen strat I just never connected with the width of the nut of the original neck. After a few other builds I found the size I connect with. I came across this beautiful neck in the showcase and snagged her up. I think it is looking good together. I'm waiting on a...
These look pretty nice. It is a Deluxe reverb clone with some modern twists in a Princeton reverb shell. They look like they make nice amps.

There are a few clips on youtube that sound good...
So I have been liking these picks from Gravity.
I am liking the 1.5mm so much that I got some neon orange ones like this pic but in 1.5mm. It came 6 to the pack. Don't need em all. I'll give 3 away. First 3 that PM me an address I'll send ya one if ur wanting :toothy11:
Well I couldn't resist. It had a little beauty mark on the back and was super cheap. It is a fat back and I have wanted to try one of those. Quartersawn maple and rosewood. Got SS frets and a nut for $230. I am just gonna burnish the hell out of it and call it good for a finish.
Be gentle :toothy11: I know I need practice.

I only have my web cam and a tascam DR-05 for the sounds. Any suggestions for improving the recording (besides hitting all the notes :laughing3:)?
Well I got the neck and all the parts. Just waiting on the body. So far I burnished the neck and shaped the fret ends. I am off to a good start. :)
I got the neck with no nut installed and bought a aftermarket earvana nut for a fender so I can switch back in case I don't like it.
Got a...
So let's open a can 'o' worms. What is the best or at least your favorite single coils for that twangy tele tone. Musicispeace suggested some Kleins and after listening to clips of their 52's I like them. I also listened to some Lindy Frallin stock teles and they were pretty nice too. All...
Well I don't have a tele and wanted to do one up. Just saw a perfect neck and couldn't resist. They are throwing in some SS6115 frets for me. #3 I guess I am hooked :laughing3:
Well figured since she is all set up and complete and I am super happy I would do a thread in the finished section.
Here are the specs.

Neck Wood: Roasted Maple
Fingerboard Wood: Ebony (Macassar)
Nut Width: 1-11/16"
Back Shape: SRV
Fret Size: SS6115 (Stainless)...
I swear I saw a thread before on shims people have used for setup on these but I can't find it now. Has anyone had experience with setup? What shims did you use if any and how did you determine height. I found this. Would this be a good approach?
Barre the strings at the first fret. Look at the...
Check out this little guy. So cute. Thought it might be good for Backpacking trips. Super small. Probably not very loud but 30 miles back in chilling by a lake and could be fun to have something to strum.

This amp looks so sweet to me. I want one and two twelve inch cabs. Just dreaming but maybe one day. I think it would work good as a practice amp while still being able to play at a small gig (if that ever happened)
And check it out in a wood finish!
Does any of this really make a difference? Or should you just find a grain pattern you like and go for it. It seems like you hear good and bad sounding guitars in anyone of these categories and it is a bit hit and miss. Just looking for opinions. I know they will vary a bit :toothy11:
