A disgruntled customer.  Definitely not one of us here......

I have run into this "Gentleman's" videos before. There's a reason He has the small number of subscribers that He does. When you order a roasted maple neck and a roasted maple fretboard wouldn't you kinda figure that it would be two piece? Otherwise you just order a roasted maple neck. And the website said accent on the body order. The fact that he claims the first neck was a 1/16 too narrow means that you throw it in the floor as useless?  ...................... :dontknow:

There's some guy who goes on a crusade every now and then. Might be him. All I know from four neck orders and a body and a decade of hanging out on the forums I can recall about two such people really bent out of shape.

I didn't bother to watch the video.

But I will say that social media has generated a whole new class of outrage mongers, looking to sell tickets for their tantrums to cowardly people who lead boring lives.

All I can say is that I mostly felt sorry for the dude when I watched the video. To me it sounded a lot like jealous whining and not like constructive criticism. Reminds me of some people I used to work with who are masters at complaining and never come up with any solutions.

Also, what's that stupid comment about long hair at the very end about?

That was possibly aimed at me. I can't think of anyone else at Warmoth he would have seen who has long hair. Either that, or he's trying to characterize us all as dumb rock-dude-types.

As you can probably guess, there is more to this story than is talked about in the video.

His video falls far short of the most entertaining Warmoth hurt-piece. Far short. That one includes comparisons to Nazis, Warmoth's ties to secret societies, accusations of child molesting, religious references, pictures of individuals who work here that were gleaned from the internet, and weird talk about how purple dye is somehow related to Egyptian gods and phases of the moon.

I have dealt with folks like this in the past. They either make mistakes when they order, or change their mind after ordering and it's your fault that you didn't read their mind............ :icon_thumright:

Saving people from themselves is really hard. We do our best, but you can't think of or win every scenario. Here is one example:

People order figured maple tops with a Mary Kaye or Butterscotch finish, and then return the body because they can barely see the figuring. For this reason, about two weeks ago we made it impossible to order those combos. Now we are getting inquiries asking why they can't be ordered.

Similarly, if you order a maple lam top with a light accent line (maple), what would you expect the outcome to be?

I long ago decided that anyone who deals with the public for a living and doesn't end up in therapy, deserves high praise......................... :icon_thumright:

Perhaps this situation can be best summed up by sharing another one of his Warmoth-hurt videos. Pay particular attention to the 1:27 mark.

"Screw Warmoth. Screw everybody that likes Warmoth."

After filming this video he returned those parts to us for a full refund.

Unbelievable! If the neck was twisted, as he say's, how exactly did he get that far in the assembly and fretwork without discovering it?

Um....so.....I was just re-watching this first video, the one where he throws the "Warmoth" neck that he bought "four years ago."

When he turns it over there is clearly no Warmoth brand in the heel. It's either been sanded off - which would explain the issue with it being too small - or it's not a Warmoth neck.

I'm going with it is 100% not a Warmoth neck. Look how far the skunk stripe goes on the heel. That's not how Warmoth installs them.

See pics below.

Obviously he must be a real internet expert and craving attention and he failed to read readily available information.

Is everything always perfect, well no but when mistakes genuinely need putting right they are.

But in his case he made ordering mistakes and is inventing issues of his own and projecting them onto the parts he ordered.

WOW!  That is hilarious!  What a dick!  :)

I'll have to make sure to never send any of my guitars to him for repair - he might decide to throw them out of the frame.  :laughing7:

YO that dude is straight #unhinged. seems like the kind of maniac someone might turn into as a result of troubled childhood. Like having a step-dad who smoked indoors but since he had asthma he made him wear a snorkel with a sponge taped to the end so he didnt have to put his shoes on every time he wanted a cigarette. not that i would know anything about that kind of upbringing or its residual trauma

Did he freehand route the bender channel in the thumbnail?

It kinda looks like it.  Certainly not up to even my standards of B-Bender installation.

I suspect he inadvertently twisted it himself installing the frets.  If he had some slots that were loose on one side and tight on the other (kind of like if you were widening them yourself free-hand) then that would cause it.
