Allman brothers was my musical inspiration, I discovered them in 1974, 3 years after Duane's death.

I just received this news an hour or so ago. Man, what a guitarist ... R.I.P.

I can't count the hours I spent jamming along to Dickey and Duane when I finally got over my initial punk and thrash early guitar learning phase.

I feel blessed that I got a chance to see him play live up close and personal with Great Southern. If I could time travel, my first trip would be to go back and see the original Allman Brothers Band.
