Roasted Mahogany necks. Can it be done?

I have not seen anyone do this, was wondering if there's an issue with roasting a mahogany neck like is done to the maple necks?  :dontknow:

Would give it a darker patina...and may make it a bit stiffer out of the box?

Just curious why other neck woods haven't been roasted?

I'm just guessing, but perhaps it changes the behavior too much. Maple necks are already bright, so roasting them has little effect on their sound. But, if you were to make Mahogany more stiff/brittle by roasting it, it would brighten up tonally, which is contrary to the motivation for using that wood for a neck.
