Tutorial on installing lower toggle switch into Mooncaster?

I was just doodling around on the Warmoth site's guitar body creator & noticed you could get a  Mooncaster body without F Holes but the lower toggle switch does not have a backplate.

Does anyone have any idea how you would get a toggle switch into that position, without even the benefit of a nearby F Hole to squeeze it through?  :icon_scratch:

Good question. I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe through the neck pickup cavity?

It's a hollowbody with a giant control cavity on the back. My guess is through there. I'm not sure how beneficial the f hole would be anyway. Might be a nice test of patience though.

There's a few threads about mounting that toggle switch out there.  A quick summary:

1 - to pull the switch through the hole use some string tied to the end
2 - only certain low profile switches fit.  Check the threads to see which ones fit.

Tie string around the toggle where you twist the tip on.

place in body.

Use forceps to reach into the hole to retrieve it and pull it up into the hole.

Put washernut over the string, keep holding it with enough pressure to keep it up against the body.  Tighten the nut.

For the pots, you can use surgical tubing in place of the string.

Here's another helpful video along the same lines.

So you have to be a surgeon to assemble a Mooncaster...... :tard:

Any hollow body is as bad or worse.  Try the wiring harness in a 355 (no opening on the back) or any gretch with f-holes
